- 2 c. flour
- 1 1/3 c. sugar
- 2/3 c. margarine, softened
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/2 c. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1In mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter and salt until crumbly.

2Set aside 1 cup.

3Stir baking soda, cinnamon and cloves into the remaining crumb mixture.

4Add egg and buttermilk; mix well.

5Pour into a greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

6Sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.

7Top with chocolate chips and nuts.

8Bake for 30 minutes or until the cake tests done.
