- 6 pkg. dry yeast
- 12 lb. flour
- 1 lb. butter
- 2 1/2 lb. lard
- 6 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. salt
- 5 lb. raisins
- 4 lb. currants
- 1/2 lb. citron, chopped
- 2 oz. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 box nutmeg
- 1/2 bottle Karo
Directions

1Clean, wash and dry raisins and currants.

2Sift flour.

3Mix in sugar, lard, butter and then add spices and fruit.

4Mix all together.

5Mix yeast in 2 cups of warm water; stir into flour. Measure 2 quarts hot water and add 1/2 bottle Karo.

6Stir and mix a little at a time.

7Knead together.

8Let rise until double its size, covered in a warm pan.
