- 2 c. bread cubes (raisin bread is extra good)
- 1 qt. milk
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 3 Tbsp. melted butter
Directions

1Grease a 1 1/2-quart baking dish.

2Put bread cubes in dish. Beat eggs; add sugar, salt, vanilla, nutmeg and butter.

3Add milk and blend.

4Pour over bread cubes.

5Set baking dish in pan of warm water.

6Bake at 350° for 75 minutes or until a knife inserted in center comes out clean.

7Serves 6 to 8.

8Serve warm or cold.
