Ingredients

  • 4 eggs or 8 egg yolks
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 2/3 c. scalded milk
  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla (if desired)

Directions

    Beat eggs slightly with beater, then beat in remaining ingredients.

    Pour into pastry lined pie pan.

    Bake in a 400° oven for 25 to 30 minutes until a knife inserted 1-inch from side of filling comes out clean.

    The center may look a bit soft but will set later.
