  • 2 slice Sliced cheese
  • 2 slice Sliced Cheddar cheese

    Place 2 slices of sliced cheese on top of each other, then do the same for the sliced cheddar cheese.

    Cut away the edges (you won't use them).

    Cut the cheese into strips of the same width.

    The strips must be the same width so cut away any excess when you reach the end.

    Line the strips up in the order of cheddar, plain, cheddar, plain, cheddar to create one layer.

    For the second layer, start from the plain strips and build the layer in the same way.

    Repeat Step 3 until you have 5 or 6 layers, and press the layers into place from the top and sides.

    Wrap the cheese in parchment paper and secure firmly in place with masking tape (so that no air can get in).

    Leave the block of cheese to sit in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

    Cut the block into 1 cm thick slices, and cut out a heart, or whatever shape you like, with a cutter.

    If the cheese is hard to remove from the cutter, prepare the cutter beforehand by using it to slice through a thick piece of fish sausage.
