Directions

1Wash lentils; fry onion and pepper until brown. Add water (3 cups), salt, and turmeric. Boil until it becomes gravy-like, stirring often. Before serving, add ginger and garlic. Cook 5 minutes.

2Vegetables suggested: Cauliflower, green beans, potatoes, cubed squash, and peas. Cook all ingredients together until vegetables are soft.

3Meat: Cut 2 pounds meat in chunks; fry in 2 tablespoons oil. Add cumin, coriander, curry, and graham masala - 1 teaspoon each. Add a pinch of cardamom.
