  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 egg yolk and enough milk to make 2/3 c.
  • 1 c. shortening
  • dash of salt
  • 2/3 c. graham crackers, crushed
  • 5 c. apples, sliced
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

    Mix well first 5 ingredients, then pat half of the dough into bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Cover with crushed graham crackers, then sliced apples.

    Mix 1 1/2 cups sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.

    Roll out the rest of the dough; place over apples. Beat egg white until fluffy and brush on top of dough.
