- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 c. corn flakes
- 15 apples, pared and sliced
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 egg white
- 1 c. powdered sugar
- 1 or more Tbsp. milk
Directions

1Combine flour and salt; cut in margarine and shortening.

2Beat egg yolk; add enough milk to make 2/3 cup liquid.

3Mix well; add to flour mixture.

4Roll half dough into 17 x 12-inch rectangle. Fit into 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch baking pan.

5Sprinkle corn flakes on dough; top with apples.

6Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.

7Roll out remaining dough and place over top; seal and slit in several places.

8Beat egg white until frothy and brush over crust.

9Bake at 375° for 50 minutes.

10Combine powdered sugar with milk; drizzle over hot pastry.
