- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 1 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 c. flour
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp. almond extract
Directions

1Mix the 1/2 cup soft butter, 1 cup flour and 2 tablespoons water.

2Spread this mixture on cookie sheet in 2 equal parts, about 3 x 10-inch each.

3Mix 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup boiling water and boil together.

4Add 1 cup flour; mix well.

5Add the eggs, one at a time; mix well.

6Add the almond extract.

7Divide this mixture in half; spread across first layer.

8Bake at 350° for 60 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting when slightly cooled.

9(I add a little almond extract to frosting, also.)

10Top with chopped nuts, if desired.
