Dark Cherry Chocolate Cake

- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 c. sour milk*
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 c. sifted flour
- 1 - 4 oz bottle of maraschino cherries, chopped
- 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped
- 1 oz square of chocolate, melted
Directions

1Cream butter and sugar, add egg and beat well.

2Add sour milk alternating with flour sifted with soda and salt.

3Stir in melted chocolate, cherries (juice included), and nuts.

4Turn into greased 8 inch square cake pan and bake in a moderate oven 350° for 55 minutes.

5Frost with a chocolate frosting.
