  • 1 lb. dates or candy orange slices
  • 2 c. sifted flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) light brown sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cut dates or candy in small pieces.

    Add to flour and salt. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

    Spread in 9 x 13 x 2-inch greased pan.

    Bake at 325° about 45 minutes.

    Cool in pan.

    Cut in 1 x 3-inch bars.

    Dust with powdered sugar.
