Date Cake

Directions

   First put dates in bowl, sprinkle soda over them.

   Pour hot water over dates and soda.

   Let stand awhile.

   Cream eggs, sugar and oleo together.

   Roll nuts in 3 tablespoons flour.

   Add dates to sugar mixture.

   Add flour and cream well.

   Last, add nuts and vanilla.

   Makes a 4 layer cake.

    Bake at 350° until done.

    Top with a caramel filling to which nuts have been added.
