- 1 1/2 c. chopped dates
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 3/4 c. chopped walnuts
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1In saucepan, cook the dates in hot water for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the walnuts, butter and honey; let cool, then stir in the egg, vanilla, flour and baking soda.

2Pour into greased bread pan.

3Bake in preheated 325° oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
