- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
- 3 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1 c. boiling water
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. chopped nuts
Directions

1Grease and flour 2 (8 1/2 x 4-inch) loaf pans.

2Sprinkle soda over dates and add boiling water.

3Let cool.

4Combine dry ingredients; add sour cream, dates and eggs.

5Blend until just moistened.

6Fold in chopped nuts.

7Place in prepared pans.

8Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes.
