  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
  • 3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

    Grease and flour 2 (8 1/2 x 4-inch) loaf pans.

    Sprinkle soda over dates and add boiling water.

    Let cool.

    Combine dry ingredients; add sour cream, dates and eggs.

    Blend until just moistened.

    Fold in chopped nuts.

    Place in prepared pans.
