- 1 c. water
- 1 1/2 c. chopped pitted dates
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 c. buttermilk
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3/4 c. quick cooking oats
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. pecan pieces
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2-inch loaf pan sides and bottom.

3Bring water to a boil in a small saucepan. Pour the water over the dates in a large mixing bowl.

4Add the margarine and brown sugar; blend well.

5Stir in the egg, butter and milk.
