Ingredients

  • 1 lb. dates
  • 2 pkg. pitted dates, pulled apart (but whole)
  • 1 lb. nuts (3 halves or chopped)
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 whole eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Sift all dry ingredients.

    Sift over fruit and nuts in large bowl.

    In a separate bowl, beat the 4 eggs and add vanilla.

    Pour over ingredients in a loaf pan.

    Bake 1 hour at 250° (slow oven). May take longer.

    (Grease loaf pan with Crisco, line with wax paper and grease paper also.)
