- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. chopped dates
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/2 c. nuts
Directions

1Make a thin syrup of brown sugar and the water.

2Pour into a rectangular baking dish and set aside.

3Cream butter and sugar together.

4Add milk and mix thoroughly.

5Mix the dates and nuts with the flour and baking powder to keep them from settling to the bottom of the pudding.

6Add to the sugar, butter and milk mixture. Mix thoroughly and drop by spoonfuls into syrup.

7Bake about 1 hour in a moderate oven at 350°.
