- 6 large tart cooking apples, sliced into eighths (6 cups)
- 12 cup water
- 12 cup sugar
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 12 teaspoon nutmeg
- 14 cup molasses
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- pastry dough, for one crust nine-inch pie
Directions

1Partially cook apples in a 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 caserole dish.

2Mix sugar, salt, and nutmeg and sprinkle over apples.

3Spread molasses over apples and dot with butter.

4Place pastry over all and trim,seal, and crimp edges.

5Bake 30 minutes at 425F.
