- 3 c. sliced peaches or blackberries
- 1-1/2 c. granulated sugar, divided
- 6 Tbsp. butter
- 3/4 c. self-rising flour
- 3/4 c. milk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 350°.

2In bowl mix prepared fruit with 1 cup sugar, set aside.

3Place butter in a 2-quart baking dish; place in oven until butter melts.

4Remove from oven, set aside.

5Meanwhile in a medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar with flour and milk.

6Pour batter over melted butter in baking dish, do not stir.

7Spoon prepared fruit over top of batter.

8Bake uncovered for 50-60 minutes.

9Batter will rise to the top, brown and crisp.

10Yields: Makes 8 servings.
