Deer Jerky

3 ingredients
8 steps

Ingredients

  • 4 lb. deer meat (roast or steak)
  • 10 oz. Allegro marinade
  • seasoning: such as, Lawry's season salt (I use Lawry's jerky seasoning, it's hot)

Directions

  1. 1
Cut deer meat into 1/4-inch strips or smaller.
  2. 2
Put the strips in a large pan or use a 1 gallon Ziploc baggie.
  3. 3
    The baggie is less messy.
  4. 4
Pour the Allegro marinade over the strips and let it set overnight in the refrigerator.
  5. 5
Place all the deer strips in the dehydrator (don't overlap the strips).
  6. 6
Next you sprinkle on your seasonings according to your own taste.
  7. 7
Turn the dehydrator setting to 140° and let it cook for 12 hours.
  8. 8
It's good to experiment with different types of seasoning until you hit on the right one for you.
