Ingredients

  • double crust pastry
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp. nutmeg
  • wee pinch of cloves
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 6 c. thinly sliced, pared, tart apples
  • 1/4 c. cream
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine, melted

Directions

    Roll out 1/2 of pastry; fit into 9-inch pie pan.

    Mix remaining ingredients.

    Pour into pie shell.

    Roll out other 1/2 of pastry and put over filling.

    Flute edges.

    Cut several slits near center. Bake at 350° for 1 hour or until golden and juices bubble up through slits.
