- 1 qt. sweet milk
- 1 cake yeast
- flour
- 1 c. mashed potatoes
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. lard
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 Tbsp. salt
Directions

1In saucepan, bring milk to a boil and let cool.

2Add yeast to milk and then add enough flour to make a thick batter.

3Let rise 1 hour.

4Add mashed potatoes, sugar, softened lard, baking powder, baking soda, salt and more flour, as you would to make light bread.

5Let rise again, then roll out.

6Cut with biscuit cutter. Let rise again.

7Bake in 350° oven until brown.
