  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. boiling water

    Sift and measure flour, baking soda, salt and ginger; set aside.

    Cream shortening until light and fluffy.

    Add sugar and unbeaten egg.
