  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. soda

Directions

    Sift together flour and sugar.

    Bring to a boil, butter, cocoa and water.

    Pour over flour mixture; mix well.

    Add eggs and vanilla.

    Add buttermilk with soda last.

    Bake in sheet cake pan at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
