  • 1 Tbsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 lb. top round steak (1-inch thick)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • cooking oil
  • 1 c. sliced onion
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar

    Mix mustard and flour.

    Pound into the steak.

    It takes punishment and rewards you with tenderness!

    Season with salt and pepper.

    Brown on both sides in a little cooking oil.

    Place in a small roaster.

    Pour over it the remaining ingredients, which have been mixed together.

    Cover and bake in a 325° oven for about 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
