  • 1 (18 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
  • 23 cup evaporated milk, divided
  • 12 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1 (12 ounce) jar caramel ice cream topping
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 (12 ounce) package chocolate chips
  • 1 cup walnuts (optional) or 1 cup other nuts (optional)

    preheat oven to 350 and grease 9x13 in pan.

    beat cake mix, butter and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk with electric mixer.

    if desired, mix in nuts or extra chocolate chips.

    press half the batter into pan and bake for 10-15 minutes until set.

    Remove from oven.

    Stir together caramel topping, 1/3 cup of evaporated milk and flour.

    Pour mixture over cake and top with 1 cup of the choc chips.

    top with remaining batter and another cup of chocolate chips.
