Dill Barbecue Buns

  • 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
  • 2 tsp. dill weed
  • 1/4 c. softened margarine or shortening
  • 2 1/4 c. hot tap water
  • cooking oil

Directions

    Measure flour.

    Combine 2 cups flour, undissolved yeast, sugar, salt, onion and dill weed in large bowl.

    Stir to blend. Add margarine and hot tap water.

    Beat with mixer at medium speed for 2 minutes.

    Scrape bowl occasionally.

    Add 1 more cup of flour; beat with electric mixer at high speed for 1 minute or until thick and elastic.

    Stir in enough remaining flour with wooden spoon to make soft dough.
