- cucumbers, cut lengthwise
- buttons of garlic
- dill seed
- alum
- 1 qt. vinegar
- 2 qt. water
- 1 c. salt
Directions

1Place cukes in quart jars.

2Add 3 or 4 buttons of garlic to each jar, 1 teaspoon dill seed and 1/4 teaspoon alum.

3Boil the vinegar, water and salt together.

4Pour vinegar mixture over cukes.

5Seal; let stand 6 weeks.

6Makes 6 quarts.
