  • 1 qt. apple cider vinegar
  • 1 c. canning dill
  • fresh dill sprigs
  • 1/2 tsp. alum (to each qt. of cucumbers)
  • 2 tsp. turmeric
  • 2 qt. water
  • fresh cucumbers, sliced
  • garlic buds

Directions

    Bring water, salt, turmeric and vinegar to rolling boil. Immediately pour over packed jars of cucumbers, garlic buds and dill.

    You may add hot peppers, if you like hot dill pickles. Seal jars.
