- 1 qt 5% white vinegar
- 2 qt water
- 1 c plain salt
- 2 fresh dill heads or tsp Dill seed
- 2 qt jar
- Large clove garlic
- 1/4 tsp powdered alum
- Grape Leaf
Directions

1Wash small whole cucumbers.

2Soak in ice water 5 hours. Place fresh dill or dill seed, garlic, and clove in bottom of jar. Pack cold cucumbers in jar.

3Put 1/4 tsp alum on top.

4Mix solution of vinegar, salt, and water.

5Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers.

6Place grape leaf on top of cucumber and seal. Pickles must work.

7They won't spoil if you store them in a dark place. They are ready in 8 weeks.
