  • 1 qt. apple vinegar
  • clove garlic
  • 3 qt. water
  • 1 c. salt
  • lump alum
  • spicy dill or 1 tsp. dill seed

Directions

    Wash cucumbers and pack in jar.

    Pour hot water (boiling) over them and let stand.
  3. 3
    While preparing vinegar mixture, put vinegar and water in pot and boil.
  4. 4
    Add 1/8 teaspoon alum, clove of garlic and sprig of dill.
  5. 5
    Drain off first water and pour vinegar mixture over cucumbers and seal.
