- 1 c. salt
- 1 small garlic
- 2 Tbsp. powdered alum
- 1 grape leaf (to a jar)
- 1 qt. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 1 red hot pepper
- 1/2 pack cucumbers
Directions

1Soak pickles in powdered alum and water for 2 to 3 hours. Boil remaining ingredients (except grape leaves) for 5 minutes. Pour over pickles.

2Place 1 grape leaf over pickles.
