  • 4 pt. water
  • 1 pt. vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 c. salt
  • dill heads or dill seed
  • garlic cloves
  • alum
  • cucumbers

Directions

    Heat water, vinegar, sugar and salt to boiling.
  2. 2
    Put cleaned cukes into liquid; when they start to turn white, pack into jars which have dill, garlic and 1/2 teaspoon alum in them.

    Pour hot liquid over the cukes and seal.
