Dill Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast in 1/2 c. warm water, dissolved
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. cottage cheese (warm, not hot)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or oleo (not whipped)
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1/2 Tbsp. soda
  • 4 Tbsp. dill seed
  • 1/2 tsp. ground onion
  • 2 c. flour

    Mix all together and beat well.

    Let rise to double.

    Punch down.

    Add 2 1/2 to 3 cups flour and knead well.

    Shape into 2 loaves.

    I use 2 medium sized bread pans.

    Let rise to top of pan. Bake 40 minutes at 350°.

    Butter and salt top of crusts.

    Cover tightly with foil.

    These make great toast.
