  • 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. fresh white bread, cut in 1-inch squares
  • 1/2 c. butter, melted

    Add sugar and salt to puree.

    Place bread squares in casserole.

    Pour melted butter over them.

    Add hot tomato mixture.
