  • 4 lbs. fresh, whole green beans
  • 1 3/4 tsp. dried, hot pepper
  • 3 1/2 tsp. dill seed or 7 heads of dill
  • 7 garlic cloves, peeled
  • 5 c. vinegar
  • 5 c. water
  • 1/2 cup, less 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Pack jars with 1/4 tsp. pepper, 1 garlic clove, 1/2 tsp. or 1 head of dill, and green beans.

    Heat water, vinegar, and salt to boiling.

    Pour over beans.

    Seal jars and process in boiling water for 10 minutes (pints or quarts).

    Wait 3 weeks to eat.
