- 1 cake or pkg. yeast
- 1 c. creamed cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. instant minced onion
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 tsp. dill seed
- 1 unbeaten egg
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 2 to 2 1/2 c. flour
Directions

1Soften yeast in warm water.

2Combine in mixing bowl the cottage cheese, sugar, onion, shortening, salt, soda and dill seed.

3Add flour to form a stiff dough.

4Knead.

5Let rise until light or double in size (30 to 60 minutes).

6Knead down.

7Make out into 1 large or 2 small loaves.

8Let rise.

9Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until light brown.

10Brush top with butter and sprinkle lightly with salt.
