- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 1/2 c. flour
- 1 cake yeast
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 egg
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
Directions

1Scald milk.

2Pour over sugar, salt and shortening.

3Beat one egg.

4Add to milk mixture, then add yeast.

5Add enough flour to make a thick batter.

6Beat until smooth.

7Add the rest of the flour.

8Put in a greased bowl and let dough rise until double in bulk.

9Remove from bowl and knead on floured surface.

10Shape into rolls.

11Place in a greased baking pan.

12Let rise to double in bulk (for about 1 hour).

13Bake until brown in 350° oven.
