Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. warm water (not hot)
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm milk, brought to boiling point and cooled
  • 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 4 c. flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Add remaining ingredients. Leave dough sticky (slightly), rather than dry, even if it means using less flour.

    Lift dough out of bowl and put a few drops of oil in bowl.
  4. 4
    Return the dough and turn it around in the oil and then right side up so oil is on the top.

    Cover with a dish towel and let rise until double in size.
