  • 4 c. flour
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. lukewarm water
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Sift flour, then measure. In a separate bowl, pour hot water over sugar, salt and butter; stir until butter is melted. In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in the 2 tablespoons warm water and add to the butter mixture. Add 1 cup flour, gradually beating until smooth. Add egg and remaining flour to make a soft dough. Put in refrigerator for several hours or overnight. Take out; press down to release air. Shape into walnut size balls. Put in pan and place in a warm place until they are doubled in size. Bake at 350° for about 15 minutes.
