  • 1 14 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup margarine or 1 cup butter, softened
  • 23 cup baking cocoa
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 large egg white
  • 2 12 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 12 teaspoon salt
  • 1 14 cups all-purpose flour
  • 23 cup Carnation Evaporated Milk
  • 1 14 cups walnuts, chopped
  • 13 cup baking cocoa
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 14 cup Carnation Evaporated Milk

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350F Gease 13x9-inch baking pan.

    Combine sugar, butter, cocoa, eggs, egg white, vanilla and salt in a large mixer bowl; beat until light and fluffy.

    Alternately beat in flour and evaporated milk just until blended.

    Fold in nuts.

    Spread in prepared baking pan.

    Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Cool in pan on wire rack.

    Frost with Creamy Chocolate Icing.

    CREAMY CHOCOLATE ICING:.

    Combine baking cocoa and 3 tablespoons melted butter in medium bowl; stir well.

    Alternately stir in 1 cup sifted powdered sugar and 1/4 cup evaporated milk.

    Stir vigorously until smooth.
