Directions

   Heat sugar, water, syrup and salt, stirring until sugar dissolves.

   Continue cooking without stirring until when test drop is dropped in cold water it forms a hard ball.

   Beat egg whites; pour syrup slowly into them and beat until candy is stiff enough to hold shape.

   Add nuts and vanilla.

   Drop by teaspoon onto wax paper or greased cookie sheet.

   Keep covered.
