   Boil sugar and water until it threads (240°).

   Pour over egg whites and beat.

   Let it stand.

   Boil sugar, water and white syrup.

   Cook this until it threads (248°).

   Pour second mixture into first mixture and beat until quite stiff.

   Add vanilla and continue beating until stiff enough to hold shape.

   Add nuts, mix and drop.

   Makes 5 dozen pieces.
