  • 3 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. toasted pecans, broken
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 2 egg whites

Directions

    Toast pecans using margarine.

    Break and let cool.

    In a boiler, mix sugar, Karo and water.

    Boil until syrup forms a ball when dropped in water that feels like chewing gum.

    While syrup is boiling, beat egg whites until stiff.

    Add vanilla and pecans. Beat until mixture is stiff enough to hold up when dropped.

    Drop on waxed paper.

    When hard, store in tin.
