- 5 c. sugar
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1 c. walnuts (English) or pecans
Directions

1Cook sugar, syrup and water to the soft ball stage of a candy thermometer.

2Add half of hot mixture to egg whites and beat until cool.

3Let remaining syrup cook to the hard ball stage of candy thermometer.

4Add to egg white mixture and beat until smooth.

5Add vanilla and nuts. Pour into buttered pan and spread 1 inch thick. Let cool and cut into squares.
