Ingredients
- 1/2 c. Karo white syrup
- 2 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1 c. chopped nuts (pecan or walnut)
Directions

1Combine first 4 ingredients in saucepan.

2Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved.

3Cook without stirring to form ball stage.

4Just before syrup reaches ball stage, beat egg white until stiff, not dry.

5Pour about 1/2 of the syrup slowly over egg whites, beating constantly.

6Cook remainder of syrup to soft ball stage or until small amount of syrup forms a hard ball when dropped into cold water.

7Add syrup slowly to mixture.

8Continue beating until mixture stiffens.

9Add vanilla and nuts.

10Drop from teaspoon on wax paper.
