  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. white Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. walnuts or pecans

Directions

    Mix sugar, syrup and water.

    Boil until crackle stage when dropped in cold water (about 10 minutes).

    Meanwhile, beat egg whites until stiff.

    When syrup is cooked, set off burner until it quits bubbling.

    Pour gradually into egg whites.

    Add vanilla and beat until it holds its shape.

    Add nuts.
