Domino Pound Cake

  • 2 1/3 c. Domino sugar (granulated)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1 tsp. grated lemon rind
  • 2 c. (1 lb.) butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 c. sifted flour
  • 10 eggs

Directions

    Blend sugar, salt, nutmeg and lemon rind in large bowl.

    Cream sugar mixture and butter until light and fluffy.

    Add vanilla. Blend flour into creamed mixture gradually; continue blending until mixed.

    Beat eggs in mixture one at a time, beating well after each one.

    When smooth, turn batter into greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

    Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 20 minutes.

    Cool on rack.

    Let it stand in airtight container at least 24 hours before serving.
