Donuts

5 steps

Ingredients

  • 1 can Refrigerated Biscuit Dough, 8-count Can (any Brand Will Work)
  • 4 cups Canola Oil

Directions

  1. 1
In a pot over medium heat, heat the canola oil.
  2. 2
In the meantime, open the can of biscuit dough and put them on a work surface. Use a biscuit cutter to cut a hole in the center of each biscuit to create a donut hole.
  3. 3
Test the oil to see if it's hot enough by gently dropping in a donut hole (if it floats and starts to brown, it's ready. If it sinks, let the oil heat up a little more).
  4. 4
Add some of the donuts and holes into the hot oil but don't crowd the pan. Fry the donuts until they are golden brown, then gently flip over to fry the other side (be careful-this is going to go fast). When they're golden brown, remove them from the oil with tongs or a spatula and drain them on a plate lined with a paper towel. Repeat this process with all of the donut parts.
  5. 5
Note: I fried 3-4 donut holes at the same time and 2 donuts at the same time, as to not overcrowd the pot.
