- 1 kg gourd (doodhi)
- 1 1/2 liters milk
- 400 -500 g sugar
- cardamom powder
- saffron (a few flakes)
- 1 tablespoon ghee
Directions

1Peel and grate Dudhi.

2Put milk and dudhi in a heavy saucepan.

3Boil till thick, stirring occasionally.

4Once it starts thickening, stir continuously.

5Add sugar and cook further till thickens.

6Add ghee, elaichi, saffron and colour.

7Stir on low heat till the mixture collects in a soft ball or the ghee oozes out.

8Serve hot, decorated with a chopped almond or pista.
